    Podcasts on MP3 Players

What is the most efficient methods of listening to WRN podcasts on a mp3 player or a smarthphone with similar player functions? I know there is not a WRN iphone application, but is there another app where WRN podcasts are available?
It seems terribly inconvenient to have to move WRN podcasts from your desktop/laptop computer and then have to sync your portable device to hear a WRN podcast. Suggestions? Thank you.

Hi Wingate, nice to hear from you again. There appear to be a number of mobile podcasting apps that will do this for you, we have not tested any of them for compatibility with the WRN website, nor can we make any recommendations, and it seems they all cost money. Proceed at your own risk!

For the Iphone, have a look at http://podcaster.fm/
For Android, have a look at http://www.doggcatcher.com/ and http://www.my-pod.org/

There may well be others. Try a Google search.

If you decide to try a podcasting app, do let us know how you get on...!

    Best regards,

    WRN Web Team.

Thank you for your suggestions. I decided to download the Podcaster i-phone application. It is a very cool application. You will need a bit of patience in setting up your podcasts from the WRN website but that is part of the fun!

I copied a RSS feed (easy to do from the WRN website) and the station icon and placed them in a email. I then opened the email on my iphone and copied the same to the Podcaster i-phone application. You will need to log into the custom feed part of the Podcaster application with your WRN user name and password for each broadcast.....no big deal.

Here are some of the cool features of Podcaster:

---You can receive badge alerts on your phone when a new broadcast becomes available.......LOVE IT!!!!! -------Custom playlists and backups.
---Timed refresh settings can be created to learn if new podcasts are to be downloaded.
---New podcasts are identifiable within the app.
---Each podcast has a date and time stamp as to when it became available.

And numerous other tweaks to individualize your settings.

Yes, there could be minor enhancements but I'm sure those will happen in time.

    Re: Podcasts on MP3 Players

Your welcome. One slight exception to the Podcaster app....until a new update is sent through the i-tunes app store, the Radio Damascus podcast cannot be heard. Although listeners can listen to it via the Radio Damascus website. Best....
