  Voice of Russia dead air!

  The 0900 Voice of Russia show has a long silent spot from the end of the news (8 minutes) until 20 minutes, effectively missing all the commentaries and opinion pieces. This began last week (Oct 9). Could you please fix this? Also, as I requested in the past, could you please air "News and Views" in place of "Outlook" or "Russia and the World"? See post below. Thank you for your service/

  We will look into the loss of audio during the 0900 Voice of Russia programme. Many thanks for letting us know. With regard to the content of the broadcast, we did pass on your message. We will contact Voice of Russia again about this.

  Since Jan 1 the Voice of Russia has had none of the news Programs like Outlook, News and Reviews, or Russia and the World. What is airing on WRN is Mailbag and This Is Russia, VOR'**weakest programs. On shortwave, at 0300 VOR broadcasts News and Views, their best program, 0400 is Russia and the World, and 0900 is Outlook. All of these are way better than what is on WRN currently.
  Then to top it off, the VOR "English" shows today Jan 12 are not even in English. PLEASE correct this, WRN is such an important service- I have suggested several times over the past year that you use the 0300 broadcast "News and Views." Thank you for listening to me.

  The VOR broadcast has been back to normal since last Thursday 01/13, with "Russia and the World" at 0400 and "Outlook" at 0900. I still wish you would replace one of them with "News and Views" which is on shortwave at 0300, and which you stream at 2100. With the poor shortwave transmission conditions that are continuing, and with the cessation of more stations from ** transmission in English (Radio Netherlands most recently), WRN is an extremely important service to global communication and understanding. I actually wish I could work with you to increase your service and audience here in the US. People here think that ideas and perspectives stop at our borders, and are seriously misinformed about the global conditions. That is why I have produced "The Shortwave Report" weekly for 13 years.

  We had a hardware fault that has now been fixed. We apologise for the wrong language in on-demand programme. It has been replaced.
  Apart from listening to on-demand shows you can also use a livestream on our website. The "News and Vies" feature is aired in 1600 - 1700 UTC slot of Voice of Russia.
